In house options to fill the right guard spot include Denver Kirkland and Jordan Devey.On paper the offensive line looked to be a strength of the team heading into training camp. Young shutdown corners are difficult to come by, and the Raiders haven’t had one in many years. To give up on Conley so quickly (when he is finally healthy) would seem to be a rash decision, but he either fits the defensive scheme or he doesn’t. If he doesn’t, and the coaching staff doesn’t have the confidence that he can adapt, then he may be better off elsewhere. But losing a young corner of Conley’s caliber would certainly sting.Oakland’s best bet would be to get several teams into a bidding war for Conley like they did for Amari Cooper. The Eagles may want to pair Conley with Sidney Jones for the future, and the Patriots would want Conley across from Stephon Gilmore.Any potential Patrick Peterson trade could affect the market, but Peterson is all All-World corner and return man who will require a higher price than Conley, so a team looking for a value play may well try to work with Oakland over Arizona.
